The Story and More!

My Darling Anna is the true story of Fairhaven during the frenzy of the "Boom" of 1890.  The book includes letters of Dr. Will Gray, sent back home to his fiancée Anna in Mount Pleasant Iowa, as he attempts to establish a Homeopathic Medical in the booming Pacific Northwest. It is also the story of how they left a legacy of culture and education to their new community through their activities and those of their daughter, Margaret Gray.

There is much more to the story, which is captured in sections of the book that follow Will Gray's letters.  Fairhaven history is revealed in the illustrated "Endnotes" section.   Side Stories shares the delight of discovery, and stories of Bellingham and Mount Pleasant that the authors were compelled to include!

There is more information that could be contained in the book.  This will be an work-in-progress as we add this information to the website.  For starters:

  1. The Sanity of Hamlet  Will Gray's Essay from 1887

  2. The Index!

To meet the deadline of the Margaret Gray Tribute held in December, it was necessary to go to print without an index.
The index can be found here, or contact info@mydarlinganna.com and an index will be sent to you.

  3.  Newly Discovered Letters
